No Chevy? Or Dodge? Or Ford????
From jayski.com
One of the Manufacturers pulling out of NASCAR? an autoextremeist.com column is reporting that: It has come to our attention that serious discussions are taking place for the first time in the conference rooms of one domestic manufacturer in particular on a subject heretofore unthinkable in Detroit. The subject? Pulling out of NASCAR. Yes, it has been mentioned before, and I have predicted it for months now - ever since the announcement was made that Toyota would be buying its way into the France family circus - but we have confirmation that not only are the discussions taking place, they're so far down the road that a timetable for a pullout has been created, taking into account the end dates of existing contracts with individual racing teams currently aligned with this particular manufacturer. This Detroit manufacturer has decided that if it competes in motorsports in the future, it will only compete in three basic areas: 1. In production-based racing series that by rule and specification retain more than a passing resemblance to the cars they sell and the competitors they compete against in showrooms. 2. "Technical" efforts, in other words, engine programs for open-wheel and prototype racing series, but stopping short of Formula 1. And 3. Developing an effort to compete for the overall victory at Le Mans. Any other efforts, grass-roots racing, drag racing, etc., would be covered as the need and budget allow.(in part....see full article at autoextremeist.com, note: the article doesn't say which manufacturer COULD be leaving [Chevy, Dodge, Ford] and this column will only be up a few days), Peter M. DeLorenzo, who owns and writes for the site has been on Speed Channel's Wind Tunnel a few times and tends to be controversial and a bit anti-NASCAR, however doesn't tend to just post stuff for the sake of posting it and has a lot of sources.(4-20-2006)
Edamame
Edamame - Immature green soy beans
These beans are what’s HOT in the bean world. Some consider edamame a wonder bean since is it the only vegetable containing all 9 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein source, similar to meat and eggs. Typically found frozen, just boil the beans until tender, rinse with cold water, and season lightly. Then eat the bean right out of the shell. To make it an even easier treat to eat, buy them shelled.

Good Friday
Got this in an email from my mom...
JELLY BEAN PRAYER
Red is for the blood He gave,
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night.
Blue is for the sins we made,
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow,
Pink is for our new tomorrow!
a bag full of jelly beans,
so colorful and sweet,
is a prayer, is a promise…
is a special treat!
I hope you all have a blessed Easter weekend.

Classic
Biffle's girlfriend, Nicole Lunders, climbed to the top of Busch's pit box and had a brief confrontation with Busch's fiancée, Eva Bryan.
First is was crew chiefs...now it is the driver's women.
Classic! Gotta love the significant others getting involved!

Don't call it a comeback
A couple years ago at a DC United game, my sister and I were randomly selected out of the crowd to go on the field at half time to entertain the crowd playing a game (pushing an 8 foot inflatable soccer ball around the field and into a goal) with some other people. This picture was taken afterwards. It was also on the DC United homepage for a while. Then it was gone. But I just noticed it is back!

Ward Looking to Return!!!!
Ward Burton was back in the garage at Martinsville Speedway on Friday wishing he were wearing a driving suit instead of jeans. "I've been carrying on some communication, seeing what kind of dominoes need to fall to get back in," he said, adding that he no longer is as insistent on getting a Nextel Cup ride as he was last year. "I'm getting a little more open-minded to the possibility of another series," he said, indicating that he'd be willing to make a comeback in the Craftsman Truck or Busch series. Burton, a five-time Cup winner who hasn't raced since the fall race at Phoenix in 2004, said he enjoyed his year layoff, but he's ready for it to end. "I had a whole year to get a good breather, and I probably needed it," he said. "But when it got close to Daytona and I wasn't testing and doing appearances, I started having a longing, like I had lost a friend in my heart."
One Shining Moment…
Tonight, I am taking Florida.
I don’t think hockey players should get credited for an assist if their shot is saved by the goalie, and the rebound is put in for a goal. An assist should be for a pass, not a saved shot.
Way to go Alecko on scoring in your first game back! DC-2 Red Bulls-2
Looks like Wrestlemania was a good show last night. I do miss the Disco Inferno though.
I grilled another beer can chicken Saturday night…AWESOME!
